Nice Girl

WL has been thinking about Nice Girl again... I guess when you are not doing work, and you are bored... You tend to think about such boh-liao stuff. Sigh...

Let WL tell a story:

About 6 years ago Stargate Command first discovered on a new set of dialing coordinates, one that involved the 8th Chevron. However, this was not an address to the Asgard galaxy. It was to somewhere else...

6 months later, a team of scientist at Stargate Command hypothesized that the destination could be the lost city of Atlantis. However, the evidence was still sketchy. Besides, dialing another galaxy would require enormous amounts of power. And they did not have a ZPM.

About 4 years back, having been unsuccessful at locating the lost city within the Milky Way, it soon occurred to the SGC that perhaps the lost city was never in this galaxy. A decision was made to attempt to dial the new address to the supposed whereabouts of Atlantis. However, this never materialized. Reliable intelligence reported that the Wraith were on the lose in the Pegasus Galaxy, and that any incursion into the Pegasus Galaxy would result in the slaughter of SGC forces.

All this while though, the SGC has been deploying long-range un-manned probes to the Pegasus Galaxy. Waiting. Observing. Hoping that the Wraith would be severely weakened so that mission to the Pegasus Galaxy would eventually be feasible. Intelligence reported that it would take at least 6 more years. Intelligence was wrong.

It only took 4 years. And the time is NOW. Reliable reports indicate that the infighting amongst the Wraith forces have weakened them sufficiently for Earth to mobilize a task force into the Pegasus Galaxy. Stargate Command is determined to give it a go, and dial the Atlantis gate. But, what about the other dangers out there? The Asurans? And what about the threat that Earth faces within the Milky Way? The Ori?

Can Earth devote her resources to wage the continuing war against the Ori in the Milky Way and at the same time mount a successful expedition to Atlantis?

DO WE DIAL THE ATLANTIS GATE?

Which reminds me... Since I have no money to see my Wife. I guess the next best thing is to order some souvenirs. I think the Earth Gate and Atlantis Gate keychains would do nicely...
