Love, My Wife, My Wife II & Nice Girl...

Love takes a while to form, this has probably been a recurring theme in WL limited experience. WL remembers the first time he liked Nice Girl... it wasn't a love-at-first-sight thingy...

Now, I wonder if history is repeating itself on the T2010.

To provide some background, My Wife II has 3 contenders up to the Q4 2008 timeframe - Fujitsu T2010, Fujitsu T4220 Refresh Model and Lenovo X61T.

In recent days, I've really been warming up to the T2010. Ok sure, it has a really fucked up ULV CPU... but maybe CPU speed is like Penis size to some guys. And maybe the maxim "Bigger is Better" or in this case "Faster is Better" is not necessarily true and is perhaps an anachronism of stupid male-testosterone egoistic ideals and the time of the Pentium M era respectively...

ULV CPU and short dicks aside... The T2010 is really a winner in every sense. It has:
1) A 1280x800 high-resolution LED backlit screen. Meaning that it is brighter than my TC4400 and I can see more stuff than on my current oversized 1024 x 768 screen.
2) A measly weight of about 1.8kg with the 9-cell battery. Dude... that is light. In comparison my TC4400 weighs 2.3kg alone, and bloats to 2.8kg with the travel battery.
3) Supposedly the 9-cell battery can last for 11hrs+. Practically, I'm hoping for 9-10hrs of useable time. My theory is that the brighter screen and using WinXP will boost the battery life, as most reviews are based on WinVista that naturally has a lower battery life.

However, there seems to be a few flaws I found besides the ULV CPU:
1) Keyboard is not as sturdy as HP/Lenovo. Flimsy keys have been reported. I don't like flimsy stuff... WL likes it hard (hey... don't think off topic here ok, not that kind of hard)
2) In Tablet mode there is no mechanism to secure the screen, so it tends to wobble. And since you know how gentle WL is to his wife... this is a real cause for concern about the long-term durability of the screen.

Of course at the end of the day, it depends on whether the great idiots at NUS Computer Center decide to bring it in.

The right to choose the Tablet PC you want at student discount price should be a basic right for all students. Damn NUS...
