Organic Chemistry Applications 01

Practicing writing skills...

I'm submitting the following abstract to the Nature Protocols.

Conventional methods of cooking curry sauce is bogged down in "traditional receipes" that are highly inaccurate and imprecise and lacking proper protocols. Most methods make vague references to the process of cooking curry and is too highly reliant on "woman cooking intuition", characterized by the lack of quantifiable variables. This makes cooking curry inaccessible to most people (girls excluded). In this report, we present our findings of an optimized protocol of cooking curry using modern organic laboratory techniques.

Briefly, 500g of curry powder and whatever fuck ingredients you need are placed in a 2L 2-neck round bottom flask. 1L of deionized water is added and a 5-cm stirring bar is used. Stirring speed is set constant at 700rpm, and the reaction mixture is refluxed for 3 hours. The reaction is monitored by TLC until the following conditions are met (see Figure 1 for Rf values). TLC was prepared on silica TLC plates using 50% Ethyl Acetate and 50% Hexane solvent system. The curry was then consumed with no further purification. The crude yield reported was 80%.
